Plastcon - plastic waste converted into a resource
Our planet is drowning in plastic. Our cities, with overflowing landfills. Our rivers, hidden under layers of plastic bottles, bags and packaging. And our oceans, where approx. 8 million tonnes of plastic waste finds its way each year – flooding entire beaches and even reaching the depths of the Mariana Trench. A responsible solution to the problem is to convert plastic to oil.
With MAKEEN Energy’s Plastcon system, we can convert plastic waste to useful resources. More specifically, we can turn it into 3 things: oil, gas and carbon black (dust). The oil can be used for heating or as fuel for ships and trucks, the gas can be recirculated to power the Plastcon plant and the carbon black (dust) can be used to colour new plastic materials or in asphalt production.

The process in Plastcon
The Plastcon system is able to accept any type of plastic waste and convert it into useful resources. This happens through a process known as pyrolysis where the plastic is exposed to high temperatures in an oxygen-free environment.
